Sapphire Blue, Emerald Green (Ruby Red Trilogy 2 & 3) by Kerstin Gier (Teen Paranormal Romance)

17254055Sapphire Blue: Gwen’s life has been a rollercoaster since she discovered she was the Ruby, the final member of the secret time-traveling Circle of Twelve. In between searching through history for the other time-travelers and asking for a bit of their blood (gross!), she’s been trying to figure out what all the mysteries and prophecies surrounding the Circle really mean.  At least Gwen has plenty of help. Her best friend Lesley follows every lead diligently on the Internet. James the ghost teaches Gwen how to fit in at an eighteenth century party. And Xemerius, the gargoyle demon who has been following Gwen since he caught her kissing Gideon in a church, offers advice on everything. Oh, yes. And of course there is Gideon, the Diamond. One minute he’s very warm indeed; the next he’s freezing cold. Gwen’s not sure what’s going on there, but she’s pretty much destined to find out.

I have been waiting to read this book forever. I have read Ruby Red twice in anticipation for this book to release and then I had to wait longer to get my copy of it. I love Gwen. She is j
ust flawed enough to be realistic and you can’t help but love her. Sapphire Blue gives you a ton of information leading to even more questions about the Circle, the Count, and everyone else. Trusting anyone is suspect. And Gideon I can never figure him out, sometimes I really like him and sometimes I’m pretty sure he’s a jerk. Lesley is one of my favorite characters though it’s always nice to have a normal person in a world of crazy.

Emerald Green: Gwen has a destiny to fulfill, but no one will tell her what it is. She’s only recently learned that she is the Ruby, the final member of the time-traveling Circle of Twelve, and since then nothing has been going right. She suspects the founder of the Circle, Count Saint-German, is up to something nefarious, but nobody will believe her. And she’s just learned that her charming time-traveling partner, Gideon, has probably been using her all along. (expected publication Oct. 18, 2013)
Thank you Emerald Green for tying everything up in a way that makes my jaw drop. Like I said about Sapphire Blue and trusting anyone is suspect. Emerald Green clears that right up. People you thought you could trust lie some good and some evil. As the final book I feel like anything I say would give away something so its better to just not say anything. Except, of course, to read the series. The ending left me a little confused though. I know its a trilogy, but the end made me feel like there should be another book. If in fact that was the ending I didn’t like it.
